Catch Bugs Secret Madxcer Quest
Encountering Madxcer will give you the Lord’s Green Crystal questline, where you must find and retrieve rare bugs in exchange for the Crystal Lord Title and access to the rarest Lure in the game. The bugs required are:
2x Jewel Caterpillars
Exotic rarity and native to the Moon Hollow. The base weight of this bug is 2.2+ KG.
2x Giant Emerald Pill Millipedes
Elusive rarity and native to the Jewel Jungle. The base weight of this bug is 14+ G.
Fortunately, this questline doesn’t have a timer, unlike some others, meaning you can take all the time you need, and Madxcer has infinite patience. How nice of him.
How To Find Madxcer
From the Deeproot Caves Nets and Sell NPCs, take a right and head towards the cascading waterfall.
Follow the river to the left, swimming around the tight turns. Don’t worry, you can’t drown.
When you see another waterfall on the left at the end of the river, head behind it and follow the naturally carved path into the lair of Madxcer. Here, you can collect his secret quest.
The Rarest Lure
Once you’ve returned the bugs, Madxcer opens a secret door behind him, showing you to a small room with a single item for sale in the centre, this being the Crystal Lure.
The Crystal Lure costs a whopping $1,500,000,000 to buy, and applies +35% Speed, +75% EXP Boost, and a 2.3x Mutations Chance to your Net. Crystal Lure’s passive also applies a 1 in 30 chance to Crystallise Bugs, which you catch, enhancing their selling value by 1.5x.

How do I find Moon Hollow?
From the Meadows, head into Crawlwood and take an immediate left onto the bridge near the leaderboard. You should pass an NPC named Kenny. Head right, and speak with the Hollowkeeper NPC to pick up the quest. You need to hand over 10x bugs from Crawlwood to gain access to Moon Hollow. The Moon Hollow area ONLY opens at night in-game. You can see the current time in the bottom left.
How do I catch bugs in Jewel Jungle?
You need to have indexed at least 80 unique species from other areas before you’re permitted to catch bugs in Jewel Jungle. If you don’t have time, you could set your net to auto-catch and check back on the game a little while later.
Is the Crystal Lure worth buying?
It’s one of, if not the most expensive item in the game, and is by far the most expensive Lure. With this pricetag comes incredible benefits and huge multipliers to help you quickly make back your investment in this lure. Overall, I do recommend it.
