I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but Grow a Chicken Fighter does well to keep its secrets. From barely understanding what the special abilities do to the PvP stat buffs, it’s hard to know what’s actually going on. Fortunately, I’ve looked into it and am here to give clarity on the Grow a Chicken Fighter Status Effects.
Stick around to learn the meaning of each icon, including buffing stats and debuffing stats, so you can better understand your hen and combat.
Let’s get into it! 😀 <- (smiley face icon = happy)
Grow a Chicken Fighter Status Effects
Buffing Icons
Green Heart Icon
Buffs hen healing, giving your chicken quicker recovery after taking damage.
Shield Icon
Applies a temporary shield, absorbing a % of max HP to negate incoming damage.
Yellow Arrow Up Icon
Applies a temporary attack buff, increasing the total damage output of your hen.
Winged Shoe Icon
Applies a speed boost, temporarily increasing how quickly your hen chases after opponents.
Reflection + Arrow Icon
All damage taken is reflected back onto the attacker. No damage lands on the hen while this status effect is active.
Debuffing Icons
Purple Arrow Down Icon
Temporarily decreases hen attack, making their hits weaker on their opponent.
Blue Arrow Down Icon
Temporarily decreases a hen’s speed, making them slower to traverse the pits when chasing and evading enemies.
Mute/Crossed Out Bubble Icon
Disables special abilities temporarily.
Sickly Skull Icon
Applies a poison effect. This status effect always applies after a hen becomes beamed by the UFO during the event. The poison makes the hen fight below their total level. For example, a level 100 hen may fight with the same power as a level 64 hen.
Purple Ball and Chain Icon
Inflicts low gravity onto a hen, making them fall slower after being knocked. This, in turn, slows their follow-up attacks.
Unknown Icons
A section dedicated to those I’m yet to learn about…

Frequently Asked Questions
When do status buffs activate?
Typically during PvP in the Pits or on the Tower. Opponent Hens and bosses (such as the Chicken Boss) can all trigger conditions for a status effect to happen. Usually, buffs and debuffs are tied to the special ability of a hen. For example, the Voodoo special (from the Doll Hen) reflects incoming damage onto the attacker during its special, meaning the reflection status buff triggers before this event.
Which is the best status effect?
I’d say the reflection buff, as this completely negates incoming damage temporarily and then throws it back at the attacker. Not only does this preserve the HP of your hen, but it quickly knocks the opponent down and is immediately followed up by your hen’s usual attacks.
Which is the worst status effect?
The sickly skull. Having your hen fight below their true level means opponents get a quick upper hand… or, upper wing? It severely debuffs all stats temporarily, yet lasts a while, making it the most damaging when in combat.
