It’s hours til dawn. You’re on a lonely rural road. You see someone waving you down for a lift… they seem friendly. Then you notice, they have no shadow. This is the Pasahero experience. If you want to reach the dawn alive, and get the ending you’d like, then you’ll need to make the correct choices. That’s what this Pasahero walkthrough is for. Unlike a lot of the advice you’ll get on your trip, everything I’ll tell you here is true.
Pasahero Walkthrough
Now, onto the info.
How To Play Pasahero
You just got a phone call from your lola (grandmother) telling you that she is extremely unwell, and that your lolo (grandfather) hasn’t come home. She tells you she needs you to come see her. To make matters worse, the highway appears to be blocked by a landslide. So, you’ll have to take the old road, 30km through the night, with limited money and fuel. Your only help is a set of tapes, left by your lolo at the gas stations along the route, and they seem to suggest something worrying… that perhaps you can’t trust your lola.
Driving The Old Road
In Pasahero you need to drive along the old road, and reach 30km. (Or longer if you’re playing Endless Mode.) You need to make sure you have enough fuel to keep travelling. You also need to keep an eye on your Sanity bar. Scary, supernatural events eat away at your Sanity, and if it reaches zero, it’s the end of your run.
Picking Up Passengers
If you want to reach the end of the old road, you will need to make money. To make money, you’ll need to pick up passengers. They show up at marked stops along the route. You can pick up a passenger, take them along the route on your tricycle, and drop them off at their stops. They’ll pay you for the help, which is great as you will need the money for fuel at the gas stations along the route. There is a catch, though. Not all the prospective passengers are people. Some of them are aswang in disguise, eager to end up alone with you on an isolated country road. So, while you should pick up passengers, when you see one, check for a few warning signs that they might not be human.
Aswang Warning Signs
The following tells that a passenger is an aswang.
No shadow. A human should cast a shadow in the streetlight at the stop, an aswang has no visible shadow.Doesn’t wave. A human passenger will wave to you when they want a ride. Anything that doesn’t wave is probably not a living person.Strange appearance. Missing eyes, extra mouths in places they should not be. All bad signs.Too tall. Take note of their height. Most passengers should be around your height. If they tower over you, they’re not human.Calling you by a name they shouldn’t know. Most of the elderly human passengers will call you anak (child) and that’s fine. If someone calls you Bunso, the player character’s name, or worse, your Roblox username, then you have good reason not to trust them.
Fuel
You can’t reach the end of the road before sunrise unless your tricycle keeps running, and you can’t keep it running without fuel.
You can purchase fuel at the MS Gas stations along the road, but you will need Pesos to do that. The obvious way to get these is giving rides to passengers of course, though there are a few other ways to get them if you’re falling short.
Finding loose change on the floor or selves in MS Gas stations.Prying the registers open in MS Gas Stations. (Weirdly the attendants won’t stop you, even if they’re at the register… though given the look of the attendants I’m not 100% sure they’re people.)Searching in the trash outside MS Gas.
Alternative Sources Of Fuel
If you can’t afford gas, and can’t scrounge enough Pesos together, there are a few other things you can try to get fuel.
Search the ground around MS Gas. You can sometimes fine gas jerry cans of gasoline on the ground, look for the gold lights that indicate an item.Rummage in the trash. There are trash cans behind MS Gas, they sometimes have things inside.Siphon oil drums. Check the oil drums next to the sheds at each pick up stop. These occasionally have a bit of spare fuel inside.Play Swerte. You can find this vending machines at each MS Gas station, and you can sometimes get a free play. This has a 30% chance of giving you a gas can.
Events
A number of strange events can happen while you’re out on the road. If you don’t handle them properly, you can get stuck until you correct them, or lose Sanity.
Engine Stall
Your engine cuts out. To restart it you need to take part in a minigame to start it up again, tap within the highlighted zone four times and your engine will fire up again.
Flat Tyre
Your tyre pops. This will drastically reduce your speed until you fix it. Pull up by the side of the road, go to your rear right tyre, and interact with it to use a jack to lift the tricycle, take the old tyre off, and put the spare on. You should ideally have a flashlight turned on as you do this. Once it’s replaced, you should be able to go.
Looping Road
You get a message that you passed the previous distance marker before, and the distance bar up top changes. The road is looping. To escape, you’ll need to hit L when the prompt appears to turn your shirt inside out. Then, the road should let you go.
Funeral Procession
A funeral procession crosses the road. You need to observe proper manners to avoid offending the dead. To handle this, make sure you do the following things.
Turn off your light. (L)Don’t sound your horn.Don’t move forward at all until the procession has fully passed. If you move forward, even if you’ve rolled backwards, it will count as a failure and you will lose Sanity.
Items
There are a few items that you can find along the route that can make your life a little easier. They can be found in MS Gas Stations, or as a Swerte prize.
Jerry Can – Gives you some free fuel.Rosary – Protects you from one aswang attack per item.Fate Slip – Is blank when you pick it up. As you approach the next stop with a waiting passenger, it will fill our, telling you if the next passenger is a human or an aswang. It will also tell you the anomalous trait of the aswang if the passenger is one.
The Tapes
The first message from Lolo tells you that he’s hidden 9 tapes in various MS Gas stations along the route. You should be able to find these by checking inside, and around, the station. Look out for the little glowing auras around the items. They’re often on shelves inside, though may sometimes by outside under the bench by the front window. Pick these up to listen to them and get instructions and lore.
However, if one calls you by you Roblox username, then that is a fake tape, and you should take any advice it gives you with a pinch of salt.
And ironically, salt will be a major issue at Stop 10….
The Legs And The Manananggal
If you pick up the tapes at each station, Lolo will tell you about something strange at the 10km stop. He talks about a pair on legs that stand there, with no top half. He explains that this is a manananggal, a creature that appears human by day, and splits into two halves at night, the top half sprouting wings and flying off to hunt. Lolo tells you to take some salt from the glovebox and put salt on the legs, preventing the two halves from reuniting at sunrise. The other tape, the one that doesn’t appear to really be your Lolo, tells you to leave the legs alone. The choice you make will determine which ending you get.
Regardless, the manananggal will chase you.
The Chase Sequences
There are several manananggal chase sequences in a run. Two if you do salt the legs at the 10km stop, three if you don’t. They proceed in the same way each time:
You need to get to the next pickup point, where the station lights will scare her away. She wants to try and catch up with you and catch you, so you need to move as fast as possible. She will make trees fall onto the road to try and block your path, and sometimes ram the tricycle to slow you down.To survive, you just need to keep driving and avoid the obstacles.Once you reach the next station, she’ll leave you alone.
Getting caught is not an instant run end, but it will take a big chunk of Sanity, and potentially a passenger, too.
The Woman in the White Shirt
At the 17km stop you can find a woman wearing white, stood next to what appears to be a grave marker. If you’ve been listening to that tapes, you’ll probably know who she is by the time you reach her. You can choose to pick her up or leave her there, and the choices you make will influence the ending you get. Do keep in mind though, when the Woman in the White Shirt is riding with you, she will take up a seat for the rest of the trip, so you will only be able to take two passengers, rather than the usual tree. She will also cause your Sanity to gradually deplete, eventually stopping around 50% Sanity and capping there for the rest of the run. Aside from this she is not inherently dangerous, though.
