Witchbrook finally has a release date, revealed with a new trailer at the Nintendo Indie World Showcase. Chucklefish’s upcoming witchy life-sim is launching on January 28th, 2027. This is the studio’s fourth in-house game, with Robotality also helping out with development.
Also, the number of platforms Witchbrook is coming to has increased. The previously announced platforms include PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Now, the studio has added PlayStation 5 to that list. It’s also launching on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
It’s Hogwarts, but exclusively for witches!
So, in Witchbrook, you’re a new witch moving to Mossport, a bustling seaside town where Witchbrook College is. You’ll be attending classes and completing assignments in Alchemy, Potions, Astrology, Tarot, Rituals, Demon Hunting, and plenty more.
You need to earn merits, study for exams, unlock spells, and work your way towards graduation. Alongside all the academic activities, you also look after your finances and try to build a life outside the classroom.
So, you can start your own witch business and use all the newly acquired magical skills to craft goods, fulfil orders, and deliver them around town by moped. Or, once you’ve earned your licence, you can do it on a broom.
You’ll also need to make money to pay for your studies. The locals have their own needs, and you’ll be able to build relationships with customers, earn business perks, collect rewards, and set up a stall at the Sunday market to strike deals.
Witchbrook has multiplayer options, too
Up to four players can join in online co-op. You can study together, build up your witch businesses, customise your cottages, practise spellcraft, or race around the park on brooms. You have your coven to lean on, too, which consists of the witches you’ll be living and studying alongside.
And, of course, there’s romance. Eleven characters, including Hana, Eli, Cormac, Pip, Leif, and Evadne, are available to date in Witchbrook. Each romanceable character has their own story, and you’ll need to spend time with them, give gifts, receive gifts, ask them out, choose date locations, and try to win their hearts. Or break them, totally your call!
