Official Trailer for Polish Doc ‘Closure’ – Searching for Missing Teens

“He’s wandering somewhere out there.” 1-2 Special revealed the official trailer for Closure, an acclaimed documentary film from Poland made by filmmaker Michal Marczak. This premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It also played at many other doc fests: True/False, Thessaloniki, Docs Against Gravity, and at Sheffield. Closure is “a visceral film that defies the true-crime genre.” After his teenage son goes missing, Daniel scours the depths of the Vistula River, torn between the dread of a fatal leap and the hope that his son may still be alive. The film is a documentary, but plays like a haunting mystery thriller. It’s all about how so many young people go missing in Poland & how they can never find them yet the adults keep looking and looking. I’ve seen this film at Sundance and it’s very good, but also depressing, obviously.
