The Grand Blue World Bosses include the strongest foes in the game, which require collaborative effort just to be slain. In return, contributing players have the chance to receive some of the best equipment in the game and World Chests.

Grand Blue World Bosses
A World Boss event triggers every hour, alternating between the two currently available in Grand Blue: Axe-Handed Tyrant and Choppy the Clown.
Axe-Handed Tyrant
Axe-Handed Tyrant (Axe-Hand Logan) utilises AoE and close-combat moves, hacking away at player HP with his… Axe hand. During the battle, he will summon level 90 marines at his aid, typically the gun variants, meaning they keep their distance and ping shots before you realise you’re under fire.
The best way to fight him is through long-range combat. As most of his moves focus on close combat, he’s easier to snipe than to PvP. Plus, at a distance, it’s easier to spot reinforcements and keep eyes on the battlefield for allies that need recovery, or where to move to if Axe-Hand is readying an AoE.

Choppy the Clown
Choppy the Clown (Buggy) is the harder World Boss encounter, due to his invulnerability to sword-based combat and long-range attacks. One of the best ways to handle him is by using a Logia Fruit, such as Flame or Darkness, as it makes it harder for him and his lackeys to hit you.
Like Axe-Hand, Choppy will occasionally summon Clowns, which can be quickly overwhelming if not dealt with before focusing on the boss again.

World Boss Chests have a multitude of drops, though the rarest is typically what players hope for.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do any of the World Boss drops, or World Chest drops appear in the Smuggler shop?
No. The Smuggler only stocks lower-tier items, such as those from island bosses, mini bosses, or mobs.
Which is the hardest World Boss?
Probably Choppy the Clown, since he has the advantage of a Cursed Fruit. Ultimately, each fight depends on how well your build topples the opponent, and which players join the fight to help. If you’re stuck in a low-level lobby, you’re unlikely to beat the boss within the timeframe.
How do I join a World Boss event?
A pop-up will show above your hotbar at the bottom of the game, inviting you to join the event. Simply press yes, and before the event begins, you will teleport to where the World Boss will spawn.
