PS5 players can now download a free native port of a popular 2018 Bethesda PS4 RPG that’s also available on PS Plus. Fallout 76‘s PS5 upgrade is free for all existing owners and players who are subscribed to PS Plus Extra or Premium. Everyone else has to fork out $39.99 on the PS Store.
PS Plus members can play native PS5 version of PS4 RPG Fallout 76 for free, but there’s a catch
As mentioned above, PS Plus Extra and Premium members can download Fallout 76’s PS5 port from the catalog at no additional cost. Unfortunately, players who claimed the game via the PS Plus Essential monthly lineup cannot get the upgrade for free.
Here’s what’s included in the PS5 upgrade:
Targeted 60 FPS across Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro.
Improved draw distances.
Improved shadows.
4K resolution (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series X, Xbox One X, PS5 Pro.
VRR (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS5 Pro.
PS5 and PS4 Pro will support 1440p while previous generation platforms will continue to support 1080p.
Those who own Fallout 76’s PS4 version on disc must insert the game into their PS5 disc drive to download and play the current-gen port.
