The 2026 IGG World Championship has now concluded, and it was undoubtedly the biggest and best version of the event yet held.
Hosted by IGG from September 4th to 6th at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, it saw highly skilled gamers go head to head across three titles – Viking Rise, Doomsday: Last Survivors, and Lords Mobile.
Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the Championship highlighted its international scale and standing as a major international event.
This third edition of the event saw over $400,000 in rewards given away, including cash prizes, merchandise, and cutting edge tech. Let’s dive into the specifics, shall we?
So what happened?
Well it’s worth starting this summary by mentioning that the Championship actually achieved a Guinness World Records™ title – Most contributions to an online calligram art. It was the first record of its kind and showed just how passionate and engaged IGG’s global player community is.
In terms of the actual event itself, it boasted custom-built stage designs, interactive fan zones, professional cosplayers, and even an official theme song.
One of the biggest announcements at the IGG World Championship was that Lords Mobile and Doomsday: Last Survivors each revealed plans for an official collaboration with Dune: Part Three, scheduled to launch later this year alongside the film’s theatrical release.
And the actual Championships themselves?
Viking Rise brought together eight top teams, comprising 24 players, for the World Championship. Team 483, Team SIR, and Team S395 secured the top three spots, while Team GOC, Team Life, Team HVS, Team Russ, and Team RiP also performed well throughout the event.
Next came Doomsday: Last Survivors, where 32 players battled it out in Off Limits War. Team GFF won the Champion Award, while Team GALL, Team SSI, and Team TK1 were awarded Excellence Awards.
Finally, Lords Mobile brought together 36 players for its Championship showdown, where Team Pv3, Team SGR, and Team XIX secured places among the top three.
A huge success
Ultimately the 2026 IGG World Championship was a massive hit with the people competing, attending, and watching at home. There was also a mass of sponsors across the gaming, technology, lifestyle, and entertainment spaces – showing how this was a truly global event.
A new record was set and stacks of prizes were claimed – but arguably most importantly it showed how there’s massive value and interest in such offline events for mobile games.
