If you’ve been playing Blox Fruits lately you might have noticed something… a little strange. There’s a big red face on the sun, at least in the First Sea. If you’re someone who just plays casually and doesn’t keep up with communications from the devs, you’re probably a little confused. Honestly, so was I when I saw it first, but there’s an easy answer. Want me to solve the mystery of the Blox Fruits sun face?

What Is The Blox Fruits Sun Face?

This guide will cover the main questions first.

What Does The Face In The Sky Mean?

Okay, straight off. The face on the sun is a countdown to Update 30. The timer underneath is counting down the hours until Update 30 arrives and the First Sea undergoes its major revamp. Once it reached zero, Update 30 arrives and we get to see the new First Sea.

Why Is It A Face?

What’s the reason for the big bed, smiling face? Well, it might be an omen of the coming First Sea apocalypse. The map as we know it is going away forever, so in a real sense the current First Sea is in its end times. After Update 30 drops, we’re getting a completely remade map, so these are the final days you have to explore this one…not that there’s that much to find that you’ll miss. If anything there will be a lot more to explore in the First Sea, soon. Still, kinda thematic that it would end with the sun falling into the sea or something like that. Hope there’s something cool to mark the milestone.

Can You Get To The Face?

No, you can’t reach the sun face. It tracks on the sun in the skybox, so even with flight powers from some fruit, you will just reach the vertical limit and not get any closer. Yes, I tried and looked extremely silly on a public server, but someone had to test it.

I Can’t See The Face, Where Did It Go?

Assuming nothing surprising happened, it might just be night time. The face in the sky tracks on the sun, so it only appears during daytime. If you can see the moon, then you’ll probably need to wait for morning to get a look. It should only take a few minutes. The face actually will show up under the map shortly before sunrise, seemingly moving through the full cycle, but it becomes transparent after dark and fades back in a little before dawn.

What’s Update 30?

Update 30 is a major update for Blox Fruits that’s due September 5th. As we mentioned above, it will mean a whole new reconstructed version of the First Sea. It’ll also introduce the Magnet Fruit, the first fully new Blox Fruit in a while. If you’re interested in learning a bit more about that while you’re here, I’ve also done a comprehensive guide on that ahead of the update. It also will introduce a new mechanic, Island Secrets, as well as make some changes to NPCs and UI across the board. So, kind of a big one.
