It has a cute rodent, and it has desserts. What’s not to like? I’m talking about Acornia: Mirror Worlds, a dessert shop management game which is also an action-adventure game. And you keep switching between two dimensions during the entire run!
The Arcade Crew, the publisher behind Drop Duchy and Abyssus, and Splashteam, the developer behind Tinykin and Splasher, revealed the game at the Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live. It’s coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
You’re a squirrel. You run a dessert shop. You grow your own ingredients. You hire employees. You help rebuild a ruined village. And then you jump into a dark mirror dimension and start blasting angry spirits in the face with cakes. Haha!
So, let me start from the starting again! You play as Alva, a young squirrel who returns to her home in Acornia after being away for a long time. The influence of the Duramen, a dark mirror dimension filled with angry spirits, has corrupted the village and driven many of its inhabitants away.
Acornia has two Mirror Worlds
In the light dimension, you’re running the shop, filling display cases, putting desserts on plates and making customers happy. You’ll cook up all kinds of sweet treats, build your shop’s reputation, cater to customers’ seasonal preferences for more profit, expand and customise the store, and hire employees.
There’s also agriculture and farming involved. You can grow and harvest your own ingredients, get into animal rearing and make the whole operation more self-sufficient. Once you’ve got employees, they can take over various tasks and automate parts of the dessert shop, giving Alva more time to go wandering into a nightmare dimension.
Alva has these enormous cheek pouches that function as both pantry and ammunition storage. You can load them up with recipes, materials and pastries before heading into the Duramen dimension, then use those treats as actual weapons. You can fire cakes, crumbles and other delicious stuff straight at angry spirits.
Every expedition is another chance to bring home goods and resources, while every day in the village gives you another reason to head back out. That’s it! You can wishlist Acornia: Mirror Worlds now and wait until it launches next year.
