My Mine a Mountain Runes Tier List doesn’t just rank each Rune from best to worst; it also goes over how to get Runes and how to merge them. For certain Runes, you’ll have to break specific Boulders, which require a stronger pickaxe in Mine a Mountain.

Meriel’s written a guide on how to get rich in Mine a Mountain, perfect for those struggling to get new pickaxes and fancy crystals.

How to Get Runes

To get Runes, you need to break Boulders. The most important thing to remember is that Runes are temporary and will disappear once used, lasting only as long as the timer. However, this doesn’t count if you go offline while the timer is running down; instead, it pauses until you log back in. The same goes if you pick up the Rune while it’s active, which also pauses the timer until you place it back on your plot.

Luckily, you can keep track of the timers for each of your Runes in the Events Bar even if you’re away from your plot, mid-climb. Though, if you’re at your plot, you can hover your mouse over the active Runes to check the remaining duration of the timers, too.

How Merging Works

If you manage to get copies of a Rune you already have, you can place them on top of each other to merge them. This causes them to increase in size and have a longer timer. It’s ideal if you need to make the most of a Rune’s effect, but you need some extra time.

You can merge all Runes apart from the Luck Rune. Instead of merging, the effects of this Rune can be stacked. The timer remains the same, but the Luck buff grows stronger. Just place the Luck Runes next to each other on your plot; there’s no need to place them on top of one another.
