Frequently Asked Questions

Shiny Evomon

To encounter Shiny Evomon, you need to first knock out wild Evomon. After they’re defeated, you’ll enter a capture screen, where the fallen Evomon is revealed after a smokescreen. If the encountered and defeated Evomon is Shiny or Prismatic, here is where you’d see those cosmetic changes.

Shiny Evomon are significantly rarer than Prismatic, and follow similar feature changes to those of Pokémon, meaning the Evomon will take on an entirely new colour palette unique to its species shiny variant.

Evomon have a pity system for shinies, seen in the bottom left of the combat screen whilst the Evomon is alive. It differs per Evomon how many you must defeat before a guaranteed encounter, but it’s typically in the hundreds, even for basic Evomon. This is also paired with a percentage of chance encounter before qualifying for the pity.

Prismatic Evomon

Prismatic Evomon are a much more common encounter. These Evomons have one of their main body parts appear as a different colour, with a pattern emitted, such as petals or hearts. Much like the standard shinies, Prismatics have a pity system that is quicker to achieve than the Shiny pity.

Shiny Prismatic Evomon Hunting

Okay, now you know how Shiny and Prismatic Evomons work. Here is the trick to guarantee ANY Prismatic Shiny you want.

Keep an eye on the pity system for the Evomon you’re hunting. When the Prismatic Pity is one below the guarantee, stop capturing the Evomon of that type. For example, Pebble has a 150 Prismatic Pity and a 600 Shiny Pity. So, at 149, you would stop capturing them after defeating them.

In doing this, you’re preventing the Prismatic Pity from increasing, as this scales with Evomon caught.

Now, what you need to do is continue hunting until you DO find a Shiny Evomon. Granted, your Shiny Pity also won’t increase without capturing the Evomon, making the grind incredibly difficult and possibly longer than waiting on the Pity. However, once the smokescreen clears after defeating an Evomon, you’ll see if it is a Shiny and be able to capture it, resetting the Prismatic pity in the process and guaranteeing a Prismatic Shiny Evomon.
