Riffrocs are the second type of mounts available in Palia with the new Sunkissed Summer: Bahari Bliss update. As the Royal Highlands is the biggest adventure zone yet, the player can use the Riffroc to traverse through it and the other zones. Players can breed and customize their Riffrocs with different functional and cosmetic traits. In this guide, we will explain how Riffroc breeding works in Palia and how you can customize your Riffrocs.
How to Breed Riffrocs in Palia
Players can breed Riffrocs at their Ranch to get Riffrocs with unique functional and cosmetic traits. The breeding process follows the same procedure as other animals.
NOTE: To breed Riffrocs in Palia, you must first acquire a Riffroc by completing the “Brood to Perfection” and “Cheese, Please!” quests for Nai’o after reaching Ranching Level 10.
To begin the breeding process, you have to purchase more Riffrocs from the Ranching Guild Store. You can purchase a Riffroc for 6,500 Gold. Purchase a few Riffrocs, and then head to the nursery pen to view your baby Riffrocs. These new Riffrocs will either have a random trait or no trait at all. Feed and pet these Riffrocs to raise them.
Once you have two adult Riffrocs, you can select them for breeding at the nursery pen. Their babies will inherit the traits from their parents. However, you can freely customize the Riffroc to change their traits as you like.
How to Customize Your Riffrocs in Palia
Customizing your Riffrocs in Palia requires you to alter their traits. As you breed Riffrocs at the ranch, they all will get random traits. If there is a trait that you do not like, or want to reroll traits, then you must use certain treats. These treats will help you get random functional and cosmetic traits on a Riffroc, customizing the overall Riffroc.
Here are the effective treats that you can feed to the Riffroc to customize them.
Cookie of the Day: Feed this to an animal to grant it a single random cosmetic trait.
Roulette Cookie: Feed this to an animal to grant it a single random trait.
Oopsie Cookie: Feed this to an animal to remove a single random trait.
Reroll Cookie: Randomizes the tier of each of your animal’s traits.
Begin with feeding Cookie of the Day and Roulette Cookie to get a random functional and cosmetic trait. If you get good traits, you can keep them. However, if you get some bad traits that you don’t like, you can remove them by using the Oopsie Cookie. If you wish to randomize all the traits on a Riffroc, then use Reroll Cookie.
How to Use the Breed Riffrocs in Palia
After breeding and customizing your Riffrocs in Palia, you can ride them as mounts once they are adults. You cannot use “baby” age Riffrocs as mounts. If you have gotten some unique traits on a Riffroc and don’t want to wait for it to grow, then feed the “Insta-grow Cookie” to that Riffroc to age it to Adult instantly.
Once you have an Adult Riffroc, you can choose it as the current mount under the new “Mounts” tab in the Collection. After selecting the Riffroc as the current mount, you can ride it freely anywhere in the Palian world.

Similar to other animals on your ranch, the Riffroc animal also gives you something in return for taking care of them. The Riffroc animal brings you hunting spoils, including meat, fur, hide, skin, and more. You will have a chance of getting a random item from the following list.
