Looks like it’s raining horror games this week. Spanish studio DevilishGames has announced a new psychological horror adventure You Are Family. They’re developing it alongside Kramelman, and have just dropped the game’s first teaser.

You Are Family is planned for PC and consoles in the first half of 2027. It’s already available to wishlist on Steam. The game is also coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox later.

Are you family?

What grabbed my attention first was the game’s visual style. Every graphic in You Are Family has been created using real images captured with an actual Game Boy Camera by graphic artist Kramelman. Not a filter. Not an imitation. An actual Game Boy Camera!

So, the entire game is built around authentic low-resolution (2-Bit hardware) pixels with a grainy, rough, deliberately imperfect look. It’s what gives the game a strange atmosphere and an uncanny, slightly unsettling realism.

Here’s the teaser for the game!

As for the tone, You Are Family mixes psychological horror with dark humour and the spirit of classic B-movies. You’ll find weirdness and absurdity alongside the tension and mystery. The stark black-and-white visuals give off a gritty, cinematic ‘found footage’ vibe.

The story starts like this…

Your character heads to an old country house tucked away in the mountains to disconnect from everything for a while. The family running the place is welcoming, the meals are homemade, and the guests are friendly.

As you spend more time in the house, things start getting weird. Some guests suddenly stop showing up for breakfast. You hear strange noises during the night. Shadows seem to move inside the walls. What’s actually happening inside this remote guesthouse?

You need to observe carefully, talk with the residents and other guests, investigate clues, and explore every corner of the building. Secrets aren’t just hidden in conversations, diaries, and documents. They’re buried in everyday objects, the meals, the beds where people sleep, and even the structure of the house.
