Ruiner 2 has dropped its official gameplay trailer and looks like it’s shifting from what the first game was doing. Reikon Games, the publisher-developer, is now making it a next-gen cyberpunk action RPG instead of the top-down shooter vibe the original had.

The brutal, lightning-fast combat of Ruiner has evolved into a deep, systems-driven title. You’ll return to the dystopic Rengkok. It’s still the concrete nightmare where corporations own your life and even your death. Yes, dying is considered a breach of contract.
The system is built to keep you alive just enough to keep suffering and working. And the whole point is you’re trying to break out of that cycle somehow.
As for the gameplay features, the shell system is the core of everything now. It lets you switch characters instantly mid-fight. Each shell has its own abilities, gear, and playstyle.
So, you’re chaining stuff across them to create lethal combos and synergies while trying not to get destroyed. Reflexes keep you alive, but what’s important is knowing when to swap shells and how to chain their abilities together.
Every shell has its own active skill tree with branching paths. There’s a passive skill tree that applies across your entire roster. And every shell runs on three resources: power, CPU, and memory. So, there are no free slots, and everything is a trade-off.
For better or worse, depending on what you liked about it
If you were into Ruiner because it was punchy and offered a decent story, Ruiner 2 might feel like a different game altogether. By the way, the game works both solo and in co-op, which supports up to three players.
