Windrose offers over 30 different islands for the players to explore and survive. As there are different types of islands in Windrose, each unique island type offers new materials and resources, essential for survival in the Golden Age of Piracy. You will start on a small Coastal Island, exploring any points of interest and completing tutorials to get the hang of things. Eventually, you would have to make sail to new islands for both progress and new resources. This is where the fast travel system comes into play. Sailing to other islands can take you a bit of time, and to avoid that time for future adventures, it is essential to use the fast travel technique. This is the complete guide to the Fast Travel system in Windrose.
How Fast Travel Works in Windrose
The fast travel system is pretty straightforward in Windrose, allowing you to travel from point A to point B with one click. However, it does not work with discovered locations, but requires you to use the Fast Travel Point (utility structure). The Fast Travel Point is one of the early utility structures that you will unlock by finding a Fast Travel Bell (resource item).
TIP: Explore the Points of Interest on the first island and examine the shipwrecks at the beach to find your first Fast Travel Bell.
You would have to get at least two Fast Travel Bells so that you can put up at least two Fast Travel Points. This will allow you to fast-travel between the points effortlessly. In addition to this, the Fast Travel Points can only be placed near a shore. If the structure highlights green while you are placing it, it means you can place it at that point. Once done, you can interact with the Fast Travel Point to open the map, and it will highlight the other Fast Travel Point with a “Star” symbol. Select the symbol, and your character will teleport to the other Fast Travel Point. You can freely teleport among the Fast Travel Points you set up in the world of Windrose.
NOTE: Only 10 Fast Travel Points can be placed in the World.
Where to Find the Fast Travel Bell in Windrose
As I mentioned above, the first Fast Travel Bell that you can find is at one of the Points of Interest on the starting island. Moreover, there is also a chance that you find one while searching the shipwrecks on the starting island.
How to Craft and Set Up a Fast Travel Bell in Windrose
In addition to finding Fast Travel Bells, you can also craft them at the Workbench (Level 1). The recipe for Fast Travel Bell automatically unlocks upon finding one Fast Travel Bell in the world. Crafting the Fast Travel Bell requires the following resources.
10x Copper Ingot
3x Rope
You can mine the Copper from the mining caves using the pickaxe, and rope can be crafted at the workbench. After getting the Fast Travel Bell, all you have to do is build the Fast Travel Point. Head over to the shore, near the water, and select the Fast Travel Point structure. It will cost you 1x Fast Travel Bell and 20x Wood for 1 Fast Travel Point.
Now, head to the other location, where you wish to place a Fast Travel Point. Build the Fast Travel Point, and you will be able to teleport between the locations effortlessly.
