Palia’s world is filled with various resources that players will have to gather to use in making useful items. As players progress in the game, they would have to craft certain crafting recipes that would require Ancient Wood. Ancient Wood is a stronger type of wood in Palia which is rare than Sapwood and Heartwood. Moreover, it is a new material in Palia added with the Elderwood expansion recently. This guide will help you how to get the Ancient Wood in Palia.
How to Get Ancient Wood in Palia
To get Ancient Wood, you will have to upgrade your Standard Axe to Fine Axe and cut down the Ancient Trees. It is because the Standard Axe is not powerful enough to cut down the Ancient Trees in the Elderwood region. After acquiring the Fine Axe, you need to go to the Elderwood. Elderwood is the new zone of the world map, and it is available for all players to explore. You can enter the Elderwood through its gate in the northern Bahari, between Tamala’s House and Housing Plot gate.
Upon reaching Elderwood, you will be able to get the Ancient Wood by cutting down the Ancient Trees. The Ancient Trees are found throughout the Elderwood map, and you can recognize them from their glowing purple leaves. Upon finding an Ancient Tree, you can cut it using the Fine Axe. Equip the Fine Axe and hit the tree until the blue bar depletes. As the tree drops down, loot will appear on the ground. Pick up the loot, and you will get the Ancient Wood, Plant Fiber, and an Ancient Tree Seed, if lucky.
There are also bigger Ancient Trees in Elderwood, but cutting them requires a higher-rarity axe. If you have an Exquisite Axe, then you will be able to cut down bigger Ancient Trees. The big Ancient Trees drop more Ancient Wood than the regular and small trees.
Last but not least, all the trees that you will cut to get the Ancient Wood will spawn after some time. If you are farming Ancient Wood, it is best to explore all locations within the Elderwood and cut down any tree you come across.
