The new Metroidvania-style Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown offers several boss fights throughout the main story quest line. Like any other Metroidvania game, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown also has an introductory boss fight that would highlight the importance of attacks and combat mechanics in the game. The tutorial boss in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is General Uvishka, a great warrior with a Spear weapon who controls a giant horse.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to defeat General Uvishka in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
How to Defeat General Uvishka in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
General Uvishka is a two-phased boss fight with several normal attacks and a couple of heavy attacks. The normal attacks can be blocked and parried but the heavy attacks should be dodged to counterattack Uvishka. One of the easiest ways to defeat General Uvishka is to slide dodge his attacks whether they are normal or heavy and start attacking from behind until he stands strong enough to strike another attack.
Both of the phases can use this technique to stand victorious in the fight but for your ease, we have listed both of his phases alongside the attacks and how to counter them to provide more in-depth detail of the fight.
General Uvishka Phase 1
Phase 1 of the fight includes General Uvishka and his horse requiring you to push off Uvishka from the horseback. This phase is easier than the second phase as all of the attacks of Uvishka can be pre-seen for you to press the R2/RT to dodge the attack and attack him from behind. If you are more of the parry player, then you have to be precise on pressing the L2/LT to parry the attack and advance to deal damage to him.
However, keep your distance from the ground slam/heavy attack as you cannot block/parry it, and it must be dodged to prevent it from getting hit. All of the attacks of the phase 1 are listed below.
Swing Strike: The horse will make a sound and Uvishka will swing the spear to attack you. It can be both blocked and parried at the perfect time.
Forward Strike: The horse will lift its two front legs and Uvishka will strike the spear in front. It can be both blocked and parried but it is best to dodge and start attacking from behind to deal damage.
Ground Slam: A flashing red light will appear on Uvishka face and he will slam the ground with the spear. Get to a safe distance to avoid getting hit.
Back Swing Strike: If you attack Uvishka from behind, it will do the Swing Attack but from the backside. It has the same audio queue as the horse and is easy to avoid by dodging to the other side or parrying.
Once you have depleted almost half of Uvishka’s HP, a yellow flashing light will appear on Uvihska face portraying an incoming Reckless Attack. You need to press the L2/LT button at the perfect time to parry the attack and enter a finisher animation to complete the first phase of the boss fight.
General Uvishka Phase 2
Phase 2 of the boss fight will have Uvishka on the ground without his horse. He will be a little bit aggressive in the second phase but all of his attacks are easy to parry and dodge to deal damage to him. There are only two main attacks of Uvishka in the second phase.
Lunging Strike: Uvishka will pull the spear back for a moment with both of his hands to charge the attack and then lunge in the forward direction to strike. It can be both blocked and parried at the perfect time but it is best to dodge it and attack Uvishka from behind.
Swing Strike: Uvishka will bring the spear in the air and swing it to strike at you. Again, it can be blocked and parried but I would recommend you to dodge it and land a combo on Uvishka from behind.
Upon depleting Uvishka’s HP completely, a brief cutscene will play out ending the boss fight.
