“This is a glorious day… A day of judgment! Yes my children!” 🧟 Wow this looks gnarly! Sony Pictures has launched a second official trailer for the 28 Years Later horror sequel – invading theaters worldwide in June this summer. This is once again directed by Danny Boyle, who directed the original 28 Days Later (from 2002), a horror classic featuring fast zombies (or “infected”). The sequel 28 Weeks Later (from 2007) was directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and was exec produced by Boyle. This next one also features Alex Garland returning to co-write the screenplay with Boyle. It was shot back-to-back with its sequel 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple, directed by Nia DaCosta, now set for release in January 2026. Boyle’s 28 Years Later sequel stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Ralph Fiennes. And also Cillian Murphy from the first – though he appears mainly in The Bone Temple sequel not this one. These two trailers for 28 Years Later so far are some of the best horror trailers this year – so intense and unsettling and captivating. Looks like it will be well worth the wait!
