Feudal Japan in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a large world map, filled with several Points of Interest, locations, hidden caves, enemy camps, and more. Exploring the world on your own might take you several hours. However, you can get a little help in exploring the world and finding certain targets using Scouts. Scout is a new system in Assassin’s Creed series and they are some of the most crucial allies. You can use scouts for various things that will help you progress the story quickly, explore the world, and upgrade the Hideout. In this guide, we will tell you how to use Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
How to Use Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The Scouts have several uses in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. A few of the main uses of Scouts are locating missions, highlighting targets, and revealing secret locations.
Use Scouts to Find the Targets
Unlike the previous titles of the Assassin’s Creed series, most of the quests do not give away the locations of targets straightaway. Instead, the game requires you to locate them on your own. The quest description will give you hints about the target being near a certain location in a respective province.
You can follow the description of the quests to find the target on your own, or you can just dispatch a scout to find them for you. To dispatch a scout to find a target, all you have to do is open the map and move the cursor to the location where you think the target might be. Read the description carefully and press the X/Square button (consoles) to dispatch a scout. If you are correct, you will see a blue marker in the area.
Use Scouts to Smuggle the Resources
Another great use of the Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is to smuggle resources. Resources are crucial for building various structures and upgrading them at the Hideout. The main resources you need for the Hideout includes Crops, Wood, and Minerals. You can find a smaller amount of these resources throughout the world. The larger quantity of these resources can be found in enemy territories.
If you go to Palaces, you will find a storage room on the bottom floor of the palace. This room will contain a few bundles of resources. You cannot pick up the bundles like regular resources. Instead, you can interact with them to mark them for smuggling. Smuggling each bundle of resources will cost 2 Scouts. If you don’t have the necessary number of Scouts available, then you will have to wait for them to reset.
How to Reset Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
There are two ways through which you can reset the total number of Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The first and primary method is to wait until a Season Change. Whenever the season changes, all of your scouts reset and bring the smuggling resources to the Hideout.
The second method is to spend Mon at the hideout’s Kakurega. Go to the Kakurega and interact with the colorful pouches to instantly reset the Scouts.
That is all related to how to use the Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
