GSC Game World studio officials recently shared insights about their highly anticipated project, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, in an interview with the Chinese gaming publication Gamersky. The key details of the game were revealed, offering players a glimpse into what they can expect from this upcoming title.
On the Xbox Series X|S, the shooter will feature two graphical modes. The developers have set a goal to achieve a stable 60 frames per second in performance mode. Details about console versions, including rendering resolution specifics, will be disclosed by GSC Game World at a later date.
The main storyline is expected to take around 40 hours to complete. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 boasts four different endings, with certain side quests concluding in diverse ways based on player actions. Specific secondary missions will also influence the development of the main plot, adding an element of player agency.
In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, players can anticipate a “hardcore gaming experience.” This implies minimal in-game hints, requiring true survival skills in the Zone. However, the release version will include a tutorial to provide players with essential information about the game. Journalists who had the opportunity to test the game’s demo earlier noted its high level of difficulty.
Players will have the chance to discover rare weapons and materials to create special equipment modifications. This involves interacting with unique NPCs. According to the developers, players can employ stealth tactics to approach enemies, making it easier to deal with them. Additionally, the game will feature various tactical maneuvers to defeat different types of adversaries.
A headshot in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will always result in the enemy’s demise. GSC Game World has not specified the game’s release date, stating that the final polishing phase will take “some time.” The sheer scale of the game makes it challenging for the developers to pinpoint exactly when they will complete this process. As the game is actively undergoing polishing, the exact duration of this phase remains uncertain.
