Marvel Rivals is currently one of the most popular games across the main platforms. This new 6v6 hero shooter allows players to play with their favorite heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe. The new Season of Marvel Rivals, which started on January 10, 2025, introduced four new characters and three new maps. The four new characters are from the Fantastic Four including Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, and The Thing. As players are enjoying the new content, a recent interview with Marvel Rivals’ game director confirms that Marvel Rivals will receive a new character every month and a half.

Yesterday, Metro posted an interview with Marvel Rivals’ Game Director, Guangyun Chen talking about the game’s launch, the undying role lock conversation, and how often heroes will come to the game. Metro also cleared that this interview took place before Christmas so the specifics of Season 1 were not known at that time.

As the game director reveals their reaction to the game’s launch and how surprised they were by watching players come up with unique strategies, they also confirm that every half-season, a new character will arrive in the game. Every Season duration in Marvel Rivals is 3 months, so we will get 2 new characters every season.

The interviewer questioned, “This might be a little cheeky of me, but have you spoken about the cadence players can expect new heroes to join the game? Are you aiming for a couple a year, or as many as possible?”

Guangyun Chen answered, “Every season we’ll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We’ll actually be breaking down each season into two halves. The length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero. We just eventually want to continue to enhance the experience, and, you know, keep everyone excited in our community.”

This confirmation surely increases the excitement among the fans and the community. As there are several more characters rumored to be added to the game, it certainly increases the chance of them arriving soon.
