Not to be confused with the other 2024 movie starring Emily Blunt called IF or Imaginary Friends, a comedy about a woman who can se everyone’s imaginary friends. This film is much scarier, with a more horrifying concept. “Playtime’s over…” From Blumhouse, the genre-defining masterminds behind Five Nights at Freddy’s and M3gan, comes an original horror that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends – and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath…? A woman returns to her childhood home to discover that the imaginary friend she left behind is very real and very unhappy that she abandoned him.
