Game Hollywood, the studio behind a vast library of mobile games and a hugely popular browser gaming platform, is working on something new.

Of course it is. That’s what developers do.

But on this occasion we’ve managed to get ahead of the media cycle and snatch a peek at one of the most promising projects of the year.

What We Know

Titan Revenge is a frenetic 3D hack-and-slash MMORPG with a distinctive Nordic setting, putting it in esteemed company on PCs and consoles while making it pretty much unique among browser games.

The starting premise is that Ymir—the most powerful figure in Nordic mythology, eclipsing even Odin—is dead. Oops. The loss of this almighty being plunges the world into a state of war between titans and gods.

Odin is on the side of the gods, of course, and he comes up with a plan to win the war once and for all by persuading humankind to worship gods and loathe titans.

All of a sudden it’s two against one, and the scales are tipped further in Odin’s favor when Hela, queen of the titans, goes missing. But life is never that simple for poor old Odin, and his plans begin to unravel spectacularly.

This is the situation you’ll find yourself stepping into as you take on the role of a giant-god hybrid who happens to be Odin’s daughter.

In gameplay terms, that means hacking, slashing, taking down gargantuan bosses, collecting loot, customizing your character, and carrying out some high stakes diplomacy as you weigh up the advantages of siding with giants, humans, and gods.

While we haven’t seen the browser version in action, Titan Revenge sounds like an absolute blast.

You can find out for yourself when the game launches on Game Hollywood Games next month.
