One of the biggest games of the previous year, Black Myth: Wukong is still missing the port for the Xbox platform. Well, it looks like the head of Game Science, Feng Ji revealed the reason for the delayed port on the Xbox. The main reason that Feng Ji addressed is that the Xbox Series S has low memory, making it impossible for the game to run fluently on the console without optimizing it.

Feng Ji revealed this information recently on Weibo, a Chinese social media app. In the post, Feng Ji wrote, “Everyone’s fighting power is so terrifying, but the only thing missing is the XBOX robe… It seems a bit wrong (but that’s 10G shared memory, it’s really impossible to get it without several years of optimization experience.”

The developers are having issues optimizing the game for Series S, and according to Feng Ji, it can take years and the main reason behind is the lack of shared memory (only 10 GB on Series S). However, if we look back, Microsoft has said that the game delay is not due to console limitations. Moreover, this isn’t the only time when a game is delayed because of Series S. The same thing happened with 2023’s Game of the Year, Baldur’s Gate 3 as the Series S could not get the Split-Screen feature due to technical issues.

Despite there are not yet any known plans for Black Myth: Wukong to appear on the Xbox platform anytime soon, the game is already big. The game has sold over 18 million copies combined on Steam and PlayStation 5. Moreover, Game Science has also planned to release an expansion for the game, offering new story content.

Let us know what you think of the new statement from the Game Science Head and whether the game will arrive on Xbox in 2025 or not.
