In just a few days, PlayStation players will truly be playing with power. The PS5 Pro launches next week, bringing its “big three” improvements to the masses. With its release, purchasers get another console box to crowd their storage space, and thanks to some pictures that surfaced online recently, we now know what the PS5 Pro box will look like.
What does the PS5 Pro box look like?
Well, it looks very similar to the existing PS5 box. As seen in a tweet from X (formerly Twitter) user Genki_JPN, we get a good look at the PS5 Pro box compared to its predecessors. It essentially looks just like the PS5 Slim box, which shows the console at a slight angle. The only real difference is the absence of the controller on the PS5 Pro box. Also, the enhanced console’s packaging is black, which is indicative of the brand’s digital family of consoles.
The overall look of the PS5 Pro box is also similar to the base console’s box, though the base console box has the console facing straight ahead rather than an angle. Like the Slim version, it also shows the controller on the front of the packaging. There is also a height difference due to the differing measurements between the two consoles.
4Gamer also has some comparison shots of the PS5 Pro box, this time with some PS4 boxes. They also used PS5 game cases for scale. The PS5 Pro box looks to be just a bit taller than two PS5 game cases stacked on top of each other.
The PS5 Pro launches on November 7 ,2024. Over 80 games will get dedicated PS5 Pro enhancements, utilizing the consoles upgraded GPU and machine learning upscaling technology. These includes Stellar Blade, The Last of Us 2 Remastered, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Some of these games have already implemented updates before the console’s release.
