Sony is inviting players to join an “exclusive, invitation-only PlayStation Owners’ Club” to “help shape the future” of PlayStation. Emails are going out to select players with a link to a survey for them to complete. Responses to the survey then determine whether one gets into the club or not.
What’s PlayStation Owners Club and how will it help the future of PlayStation?
I did a double take when I received the email because it sounded unusual and there’s barely any information about this club online (it’s really exclusive, alright). I did find a YouTube video dated November 2022, which shows off an email similar to the one I received.
“The PlayStation Owners’ Club is an ‘invitation only’ online community where you can share your direct thoughts and feedback with PlayStation,” the email reads. “We want to hear from a select group of PlayStation gamers to help us shape the future of your experience.”
If players get in, they’ll be sent surveys on a variety of topics. Sony’s goal is to gather feedback — whether good or bad — and use it to “provide the best experiences” to PlayStation gamers. From the sound of things, all the feedback will be gathered through surveys rather than direct engagement.
The survey that I was sent to gauge whether I’d be a good fit for this club or not asked respondents if they owned a PS5 Pro. I’m assuming they mean preorders since the console has yet to release. Other questions revolved around the type of console(s) respondents own, how much time they spend playing games, etc.
If you’re interested in joining, check your email. Those who haven’t received an email will not be able to partake in the introductory survey as the unique links are tied to players’ accounts.
