Fisch Magnet Rod – Obtainment and Its Single Use

The Magnet Rod is only good for one thing… and that’s catching crates. My main tip for this rod is that you shouldn’t waste an Enchant Relic on it, like the Magma Rod, as there’s only one real use for it.

How to Get the Magnet Rod

You can buy the Magnet Rod on Terrapin Island when visiting the Shipwright. He sells it to you for 15K coins!

Magnet Rod Stats

They’re largely unimpressive, with a 0% Luck boost (really… what is the point?) and 0% Resilience. So, not only do you get no extra luck, there’s no improvement to the mini-game. Then again, you’re not using the Magnet Rod to reel in fish or fill your Bestiary.

That’s not to say this rod can’t catch fish, but with a 95% increased chance to find crates of any type, you’re more likely to be getting those instead.

How to Get the Magnet Rod

You can buy the Magnet Rod on Terrapin Island when visiting the Shipwright. He sells it to you for 15K coins! It’s a cheap rod, so it’s worth getting when you’re above level 10.

Catching Crates

In particular, using the Magnet Rod at Sunstone Island makes it easier for you to stock up on Quality Bait Crates. However, the RNG for the contents of the crate is still the same. There’s no guarantee that you’ll get the bait type you’re hoping for.

On the other hand, if you use the Magnet Rod in Vertigo, you’re more likely to pick up Carbon Crates. This type includes much better rewards compared to a Common Crate.

Which bait should you use with the Magnet Rod?

Magnet

To boost the Magnet Rod even more, you can equip it with Magnet bait. This mainly attracts crates (like the rod) as well as ‘trash’, such as Driftwood, Tyres, Rocks, and other items.

Rapid Catcher

While the Magnet bait enhances the effects of the Magnet Rod, it’s actually the Rapid Catcher bait that works the best. This is because it increases your Lure Speed by 35, which allows you to farm crates more efficiently.
