Take a trip back to the 1980s. Netflix has unveiled a teaser trailer for a first look at the Australian crime series called Boy Swallows Universe, based on the iconic novel written by Trent Dalton. It’s adapted by an acclaimed screenwriter named John Collee (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Happy Feet 1 & 2, Son of a Gun). Set in 80s Brisbane, Australia, a precocious boy and his selectively mute brother embark on a suburban odyssey of love, redemption and retribution after their family is torn apart by a drug lord. The story revolves around Eli Bell, a working-class youth who enters Brisbane’s underworld to save his mother. This trailer starts out all happy-go-lucky but gets pretty dark by the end. Starring Zac Burgess as teenage Eli, Travis Fimmel as Lyle Orlik, Simon Baker as Robert Bell, Phoebe Tonkin as Frances Bell, with Felix Cameron, Lee Tiger Halley, Bryan Brown, Anthony LaPaglia, and Sophie Wilde. This looks like it has some strong style and intriguing potential to be a captivating series! Definitely worth a look. // Continue Reading ›
