It has been two years since the release of Disney Dreamlight Valley (early access), and fully released last year in December with its first paid expansion, A Rift in Time. With its two-year run, we have seen a lot of improvements with quality-of-life additions, expansive questlines for characters, tons of decorative items, and more. However, it is still missing one of the most demanded options, controllable indoor ceiling lights.

Disney Dreamlight Valley gameplay is a bit different than regular life simulation video games, such as the in-game time stays synced with a player’s local time, making the in-game day cycle with local time. As the day cycles from light to dark, a few notable changes can be seen around the valley, one of which is turning on/off of street lights and ceiling lights inside a player’s house.

Now, the game allows players to interact with the street lights and lamps to turn the light on/off whenever they want, but it doesn’t allow them to switch on/off the ceiling lights inside the house, at least not directly. Players can turn on/off the ceiling lights by switching the night/day time from the ‘Offset Times of Day’ slider option under the ‘Graphics’ settings, but it isn’t as effective as you would have to change it back.

Instead of altering the settings, an addition of a simple light switch in the house rooms would work greatly.

Moreover, all the lights in the game are super-bright which can ruin a picture if it is in the frame, especially inside the house. Having low lights in the game will certainly make pictures more pleasant, especially for the DreamSnaps. Speaking of DreamSnaps, the current challenge of DreamSnaps is Dance Party and no one would like to throw a party with bright lights.

Let us know what you guys think on an option to turn off ceiling lights in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
