Palia is an open-world life sim video game that takes place in a fantasy world where humans are extinct. You and the other real players brought to the Palian World have to unravel a mystery about what happened to the ancient humans. In addition to the plot, hidden temples, and secrets do make it an interesting journey, but it seems now that the players are losing interest as the story has been paused for over 5 months.

The last main story quest, ‘Strange Things Afoot’ was added in Patch 0.178 which came out at the end of March this year. The quest itself tells players to wait for the story to be continued, but I think the wait has been prolonged enough. Throughout the recent updates, Palia Devs have added various new features and decorative items for players to enjoy and spend time decorating their Housing Plot, but it seems a bit overwhelming for players.

Apart from the main story quests in Palia, the Devs also haven’t added more quests for the villagers since April (Patch 0.180). Bonding with the villagers is one of the crucial features of Palia, but it seems to be paused as well, and players can’t further progress in the relationship with the villagers.

A few of the players also commented about the quests on Palia’s latest update, Soiree Sunset (Patch 0.183) tweet.

Still no story update, quests, friendship updates or any real playable content, so I won’t be buying any premium items again.”

Sorry, as a late game long term player who finished all the quests this update just doesn’t really motivate me to get back into the game…

As for the Devs, they did mention that the team is working on a lot of new quests that will be pushed out along with the updates throughout the remaining year, and the team is currently working on a new map zone called Elderwood. Elderwood will mainly contain “new mainline quests, gameplay elements, and many hours of adventure”, but it won’t be released until early 2025.

So, any player who is looking for new content in the whimsical world of Palia has to wait for future updates to undertake any villager or found item/discovery quests.
