As the time draws shorter for the release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, more confirmation regarding its world is coming out. Recently, in a private game preview event for Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Nintendo revealed that the Hyrule in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is completely a new version despite the few iconic locations, and it is not connected to any Zelda game.
A well-known news outlet on YouTube Good Vibes Gaming got the privilege to attend the private preview event where they got to play 1 hour of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. During their playthrough, they asked Nintendo about its world to which Nintendo responded that it takes place in a unique Hyrule world and it is not a continuation of any previous Zelda games.
Good Vibes Gaming included this statement in their recent Zelda video. Moreover, the hands-on preview included the playthrough of major gameplay mechanics and the initial dungeon, but nothing related to the story.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is set to release on September 26, 2024, for the Nintendo Switch.
