Black Myth: Wukong offers an exciting journey through the fantasy world with the chapter-based progression system. Each chapter takes place in a new region of the world bringing new challenges and secrets. As each chapter is pretty long and consists of multiple areas, there are various secrets that you can uncover.
Chapter 1: Black Cloud, Red Fire also has a secret tied to the ringing of three hidden bells which teleports you to a secret area where you can encounter a secret boss and earn a Legendary ability. This guide will highlight all three bell locations in Chapter One of Black Myth: Wukong.
All Three Bell Locations in Chapter One of Black Myth: Wukong
There are three bells in Chapter One that you can stumble upon and each bell is hidden behind a boss fight. As there is no proper map in Black Myth: Wukong, we will guide you toward the bell location from the nearest Keeper’s Shrine.
NOTE: Interact with any Shrine to see the discovered Keeper’s Shrines under the Travel option
Bell Location #1 – Outside the Forest
The first bell in Chapter 1 is found at the location of the Guangzhi boss fight. It is located near Outside the Forest Keeper’s Shrine in the Forest of Wolves area.
From the Outside of the Forest Keeper’s Shrine, follow the steps below to find the first bell.
Head inside the forest and take the first path on the left beside a couple of foes.
Continue following the path to come across a chest on the next fork.
Go past the chest to the bridge ahead.
Follow the path on the left after crossing the bridge to enter an open area with Guangzhi.
Upon finding Guangzhi, defeat him and you will see the bell at the back of the area. Go near the bell and interact with it to ring it.
Bell Location #2 – Snake Trail
The second bell is located in the Bamboo Grove area and the nearest Keeper’s Shrine from where you can reach it is Snake Trail. From the Snake Trail Keeper’s Shrine, follow the steps mentioned below to find the second bell.
Head upstairs beside the shrine and follow the path to cross the bridge.
Head to the left side and follow the path to cross under the bridge and reach the bamboo grove.
Go through the path in the middle of the bamboo grove to pass between the rocks and reach an open area.
Encounter and defeat Guangmou.
Head up the stairs in the boss area and continue following the path to find the bell.
After finding the bell, go near it and interact with it to ring it.
Bell Location #3 – Marsh of White Mist
The third bell is located in the Bamboo Grove area and the nearest Keeper’s Shrine from where you can reach it is Marsh of White Mist. From the Marsh of White Mist Keeper’s Shrine, follow the steps mentioned below to find the third bell.
Continue straight from the shrine to cross the wooden platforms and reach an open area with water.
Encounter and defeat Whiteclad Noble.
Instead of heading up the temple’s staircase, go toward the cave on the left side.
Follow along the path to reach the bell, but you will encounter several foes in the area.
Defeat all the enemies in the area and then go near the bell to ring it.
How to Access Secret: Ancient Guanyin Temple in Black Myth: Wukong
Upon ringing all three bells in Chapter One, a brief cutscene of Guanyin Temple will play and you will be teleported to the temple.
Secret Boss in Ancient Guanyin Temple
Activate the Grand Chamber Keeper’s Shrine at the temple and walk through the next door in the temple to encounter Elder Jinchi. He is a Secret boss similar to the Wandering Wight side boss that you can encounter early in the chapter.
Upon defeating Elder Jinchi, you will be teleported back to the Bamboo Grove and witness a hanging wolf. Examine the wolf to get the Fireproof Mantle – Vessel which grants burn immunity and gradual focus increase; highly effective in specific environments and specific enemies.
