The Defend the Rig is the main pursuit in DREDGE: The Iron Rig that players will able to pursue after bringing all the strange specimens of Gale Cliffs to the Scientist. This guide will walk you through the Defend the Rig in DREDGE: The Iron Rig.
How to Complete Defend the Rig in DREDGE: The Iron Rig
A tentacle creature will attack the Iron Rig and the Scientist will tell you to look for his former student as they might have developed a technology to protect the Rig. The student of Scientist is none other than the Researcher who is located at the Old Fortress in the Stellar Basin region.
NOTE: At this point, the oil contamination will have reached the Stellar Basin where you can find more strange specimens for the Scientist.
Meet the Researcher
Set sail to the Stellar Basin region and make your way to the Old Fortress located on D-5 coordinates. Dock your ship and meet the Researcher. Select the “Someone from the Ironhaven Corporation sent me” dialogue, and then select the “Tell me about the defense tech you’ve been working on” dialogue to learn about the defensive schematics.
Go through the dialogues and then select the “We need to protect the rig and its workers” dialogue to get the schematics from the Researcher.
Install the Defense System
The next step is to install the defense system on the Iron Rig, but it will require a Dark Canister and an Ironhaven Crate. Luckily, you can get both of these materials on your way to the Iron Rig. Make sure to grab them and then return to the Iron Rig.
Dock at the rig and select the ‘Defenses’ facility. Here, Foreman will ask you to deliver the materials (Dark Canister and Ironhaven Crate). Deliver both of the materials to finish building the Defense facility and get rid of the tentacle creature.
