A Stone Hearth is one of the essential cooking stations in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, where you can craft various cooking recipes. Food is a critical element for survival in the depths of Moria, as you will encounter numerous enemies who will hunt you down. How to Build a Stone Hearth in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
Your base is incomplete without a Stone Hearth because you and your fellow survivors will require food throughout your journey. Additionally, it provides heat and light to the limited surroundings of your base, which is beneficial for staying in well-lit areas and avoiding the dark debuffs on your character. Building the Stone Hearth will require the following resources:
18x Stone
15x Coal
20x Wood Scraps
You can gather Stone by mining the walls or brick structures with a simple pickaxe, and Coal is obtained from Coal Veins. As you explore more of the depths, you will come across dark veins that you can mine using the pickaxe to obtain coal. Wood Scraps are easy to gather either by foraging from the ground or by breaking wooden furniture with the Improvised Axe throughout Moria.
Once you have collected the required materials, you can craft the Bedroll through the Building Menu. Press the B button to open the Building Menu and navigate to the Essentials & Crafting tab to find the Stone Hearth recipe. Select the Stone Hearth recipe to craft it and then place it by pressing the LMB.
After placing the Stone Hearth, you will be able to use it to cook various recipes. However, some cooking recipes require a Meal Table. The Meal Table can also be crafted from the Building Menu, and it only costs 10x Wood Scraps. Make sure to build and place the Meal Table next to the Stone Hearth to successfully cook recipes. Once the food is ready, it will be sent to the Meal Table, where you can eat it to replenish your health.
You can also rebuild the Stone Hearth whenever it is destroyed by enemies during a siege, and it will only cost 10x Stones, instead of all the required resources.
