“This is going to be really violent.” Yes it definitely looks like it. Signature Entertainment in the UK has revealed an official English-language UK trailer for a sci-fi survival thriller called Survive. The film is from a French filmmaker named Frédéric Jardin, who made the kick ass night club thriller Sleepless Night (2011), which we raved about and promoted years ago. This is his first feature film since then, as he’s been directing TV series instead. A couple celebrates their son’s birthday in the middle of the ocean on their boat. A violent storm hits and brings up hungry creatures from the depths as they fight for their survival. The apocalyptic concept involves the oceans disappearing due to the polarity being reversed, and how the world is massively changed, following one family struggling to survive. Starring Andreas Pietschmann, Émilie Dequenne, Lisa Delamar, and Lucas Ebel. As much as I am usually down for high concept world-rocking sci-fi like this, alas this film does not look very good.
