Yujin is one of the unlockable descendants you will meet while following the campaign. Unlocking him will require you to gather various materials by completing multiple missions to research Yujin. This guide will walk you through unlocking Yujin in The First Descendant.

How to Unlock Yujin in The First Descendant

Unlocking Yujin requires gathering 4 materials essential for initializing his research at Anais. Three out of four materials are obtained by researching them at Anais instead of getting them by completing missions like the early-game unlockable Descendants. Moreover, each material requires a respective Blueprint as a final resource to complete the research that a certain Amorphous Material obtains.

All the required materials for unlocking Yujin are as follows.

1x Yujin Spiral Catalyst

1x Yujin Enhanced Cells

1x Yujin Stabilizer

1x Yujin Code

Before you start finding the Amorphous Materials to get all the blueprints, go to Anais and navigate to Enhanced Materials to see all three required materials for unlocking Yujin and the resources for researching each one.

You can find the methods to get each required Amorphous Material respective to the material below.

How to Get Yujin Spiral Catalyst

All the research materials required to research Yujin Spiral Catalyst are as follows.

Hardener x386

Ceramic Composite x408

Anode Ion Particle x27

Yujin Spiral Catalyst Blueprint x1

Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Yujin Spiral Catalyst Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening the Amorphous Material Pattern: 057. Amorphous Material Pattern: 057 has a drop rate of 5% – 25% on Hard Difficulty and is obtained by completing the Magister Lab mission in the Fallen Theater area of the Kingston region.

Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to defeat the Executioner boss on Hard Difficulty to open it. Go to Seneca and initiate the Executioner fight. Defeat the Executioner and interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 057.

However, the drop rate of the Yujin Spiral Catalyst Blueprint is only 20% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by defeating Executioner on Hard Difficulty.

Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Yujin Spiral Catalyst for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.

How to Get Yujin Enhanced Cells

All the research materials required to research Yujin Enhanced Cells are as follows.

Flectorite x292

Reverse Charging Coil x455

Divided Plasma Battery x22

Yujin Enhanced Cells Blueprint x1

Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Yujin Enhanced Cells Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening the Amorphous Material Pattern: 085. Amorphous Material Pattern: 085 has a drop rate of 5% – 25% on Hard Difficulty and is obtained by completing the Seed Vault mission in the Abandoned Zone area of the Echo Swamp region.

Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to defeat the Pyromaniac boss on Hard Difficulty to open it. Go to Seneca and initiate the Pyromaniac fight. Defeat the Pyromaniac and interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 085.

However, the drop rate of the Yujin Enhanced Cells Blueprint is only 20% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by defeating Pyromaniac on Hard Difficulty.

Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Yujin Enhanced Cells for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.

How to Get Yujin Stabilizer

All the research materials required to research Yujin Stabilizer are as follows.

Compound Coating Material x239

Carbon Crystal x554

Pure Energy Residue x40

Yujin Stabilizer Blueprint x1

Out of all these materials, the blueprint is the hardest to get, as the rest of them can be obtained by opening the chests and blue boxes. Yujin Stabilizer Blueprint has a chance of dropping by opening the Amorphous Material Pattern: 079. Amorphous Material Pattern: 079 has a drop rate of 5% – 25% on Hard Difficulty and is obtained by completing the Shelter mission in the Timberfall area of the Vespers region.

Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to defeat the Devourer boss on Hard Difficulty to open it. Go to Seneca and initiate the Devourer fight. Defeat the Devourer and interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 079.

However, the drop rate of the Yujin Stabilizer Blueprint is only 10% so if you didn’t get the blueprint as a reward, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then opening it by defeating Devourer on Hard difficulty.

Once you have got the Blueprint, you can go to Anais and initiate the Research of the Yujin Stabilizer for a cost of 200,000 Gold. It will take 8 hours (Real Time) to complete and then you can claim it.

How to Get Yujin Code

The final Research Material for unlocking Yujin is the Yujin Code. To get the Yujin Code, you will first have to get Amorphous Material Pattern: 080. Amorphous Material Pattern: 080 has a drop rate of 25% on Hard Difficulty and is obtained by completing the Muskeg Swamp: Vulgus Strategic Outpost mission located in the Echo Swamp region.

Once you have obtained the Amorphous Material, the next step is to complete the Void Fusion Reactor mission in the Muskeg Swamp area of the Echo Swamp region. It requires 35x Organic Void Shard and 10x Monomer Void Shard which are obtained by destroying the Void Fragments. Defeat the elite enemy spawn by activating the Void Fusion Reactor and then interact with the Reconstructed Device to open the Amorphous Material Pattern: 080 and hopefully get the Yujin Code.

However, Yujin Code has a 6% chance of dropping so If you don’t get the Yujin Code, you will have to repeat the whole process of getting the Amorphous Material and then completing the Void Fusion Reactor mission on Hard Difficulty.

Research Descendant: Yujin

After obtaining all 4 required materials for unlocking Yujin, head back to Albion and speak with Anais. Select the Descendant option and then select Yujin. Researching Yujin will cost you all 4 materials and 400,000 Gold.

Begin Researching for Yujin and it will take 16 hours (Real Time) for the research to be complete. Fortunately, the timer goes on even if you are offline so you will most likely use Yujin the next day. However, you can immediately complete the research by spending 240 Caliber (premium currency).
