If, like me, you’ve gone for the Mage class, you’re going to need my Pixel Lineage Mage Build guide. I’ve included the best Trait, Oath, Race, Weapons and Armor Sets. When reaching Act 2 in Pixel Lineage, you need to choose a Super Class; I’ve gone over the best one for Mages. I go into more detail regarding them in my Pixel Lineage Super Classes guide.
Pixel Lineage Mage Build
The Mage class is one of the base classes you can choose when you start a new character in Pixel Lineage. However, eventually, you’ll need to pick a Super Class, which then determines your Ultra Class. The Super Class you go for determines the path you take for your build, whether you go for a DPS role or a Healer.
Best Super Class For Mages
There are actually two great Super Classes for Mages: Hexer and Cleric. The Summoner Super Class is fine, but I don’t recommend it. Hexer is more of a DPS Mage, whereas Clerics are Healers.
Now, one thing I’ll mention is that Healers are obviously useful, but only if you’re primarily playing in a party. Having your own healing abilities when playing solo is handy, but you’ve got Potions and other passives to unlock to deal with your HP.
I’m going to go down the Hexer route for this guide, as it’s practically a Battle Mage, allowing you to cast spells to deal DMG and inflict debuffs on enemies. When you obtain an Ultra Sigil, you can evolve the Hexer class into the Doomcaller Ultra Class.
Best Mage Race
Celestine or Vesper are great options due to their magic-focused buffs. Out of the two, I’d rather go for Celestine, but that’s much rarer, with a 1.44% drop chance compared to Vesper’s 5.76% chance.
Celestine
Magic increases by 6%Dodge increases by 4%Crit increases by 6%
Vesper
Stronger Magic attacksA chance to evade ability attacksMore Energy
Tideborn is a great option for any class, especially anything other than a Healer. This Mythic rarity class replenishes 5% of your Maximum HP whenever it’s your turn with the Tidal Grace ability.
Which Trait?
The best Trait for Mages is Arcane Spark. This is because of the 8% buff to your Magic, as well as the ability to start every battle with +1 Energy, allowing you to cast more of your spells. The Prodigy Trait is a strong option for all classes, but only provides a 5% Magic buff and no additional Energy, so it falls short for Mages.
Oath for Mages
As for the Oath you should choose as a Mage, I recommend Wellspring. At Rank 1, your Magic increases by 4%, at Rank 2, this increases to 8%, and at Rank 3 [Awakened] you start every battle with +2 Energy, replenishing 2 Energy each time you defeat an enemy. It’s practically made for Mages.
Weapons to Wield
Referring to our rankings in our Pixel Lineage Weapons Tier List, the best weapons for Mages are:
Astral Sceptre
Mythic rarity
T4 Phoenix RodT4 Voidcaller
As you work towards getting any of these weapons, I recommend crafting the Cursed Staff, which requires the Blueprint.
Armor to Wear
The armor you should focus on getting is the Frostborn Set. This is exclusive to Mages and can range from Common rarity to Legendary. If you want to get the most out of the Frostborn armor, then you’ll have to get Legendary rarity pieces.
When equipped, the Frostborn Set unlocks the Winter’s Grasp buff, increasing your Magic by 8%, your Crit by 3%, and granting you a 30% chance with each hit to inflict enemies with Chill for 2 turns.
Other options are the Seraph Mythic Set and the Phoenix Mythic Set, both of which are super rare. The Phoenix Set grants a 7% Magic buff, with the Seraph Set providing 6%. Whilst the Frostborn Set has a strong Magic buff overall, it’s worth nothing that the Seraph and Phoenix sets come with powerful passives that are useful for all classes.
