Luckily for you, I’m here to tell you my tips and tricks on how to do 50 Perfect Catches in a row in Fisch, so the only thing scary about those frightful pools is the mass extinction you’ll cause from overfishing.

How To Do 50 Perfect Catches In A Row In Fisch

A perfect catch means not letting the fish escape your bar when in the minigame. This is particularly annoying for fast-moving fish that really try to evade capture. And, with this quest limited to the Frightful Pools, there’s a ton of freaky fish which easily break an ongoing streak.

The best method I’ve found to complete 50 Perfect Catches in the Frightful Pools is by using Garbage Bait and the Plaguereaver Rod.

Garbage Bait

Much like its name, this is truly Garbage Bait. However, this works in your favour when trying to get a perfect catch. Due to the -500% Universal Luck applied by the Bait, you’re unlikely to encounter higher rarity fish, which often move erratically and have harder catch rates. This, in turn, means fish are easier to catch.

To get Garbage Bait, I most recommend opening Bait Crates, which have the highest chance to drop it of any other source, as well as the bonus of being very cheap to buy.

Plaguereaver Rod

This Rod has the natural highest control, meaning most of the minigame bar is full when fishing, almost guaranteeing a perfect catch. Without any sort of enchantments, it covers 70% of the reeling minigame bar.

To get it, you need to complete the Plagued Reaper questline, which requires a starting level of 150 and a continuation level of 650+.

Can I use a different Rod if I don’t have the Plaguereaver?

Yes. I recommend using whichever rod you own with the highest control, as this is the most important stat to have the upper hand on to get those 50 Perfect Catches.

What is a Perfect Catch?

When in the fishing minigame, you’ll see a fish icon which shows you where the catch is currently moving. To fill the progress bar, you need to keep your control bar over the fish, which will move left to right at random.

Now, to do a perfect catch, you need to never let the fish leave your control bar. If it does, you can still catch the fish, but it won’t be a perfect catch.

What is the Doomsekkar Questline?

At the new Halloween Event area, you’ll meet many NPCs with questlines leading to new limited items, rods, etc. One of them is the Doomsekkar NPC, who is found just over the bridge past the main village. He will challenge you with three quests in exchange for the Doomsekkar, including the 50 Perfect Catches from the Frightful Pools.
