OSM Games is bringing a mind-bending first-person puzzle horror to Meta Quest on October 8th, 2026. Shil is the game which is about stepping into someone’s subconscious and trying to figure out what the hell is going on in there.
Shil starts with a person entering a strange inner world, guided by an AI companion that wants to help them find the correct path. Memories are fragmented and hidden in plain sight, and instead of there being one obvious route forward, there are two. One of those paths probably shouldn’t be there at all.
Shil includes surreal puzzle solving, horror, exploration, and messing with your perspective. The whole game has a really striking two-colour visual style, with each level turning into a different world that you have to uncover piece by piece. Take a look at it here.
Actually, the two-tone art style is part of the gameplay. The limited colours are how you solve things, hide secrets, and understand the spaces around you. You’re reconstructing the strange 3D environments from silhouettes, shapes, traces, and perspective.
Shil, surely, is Superliminal
You also get some tools. There’s a slingshot that lets you unlock parts of the world and deal with invisible enemies, while a magnet gun can be used to manipulate the environment. Alternate perspectives are another big part of figuring out what’s actually there, so your viewpoint basically becomes one of your main weapons.
The environments are twisted and labyrinthine, with dynamic colour and sound creating worlds within worlds. There are invisible creatures lurking around the fractured realms too. Here, the problem might just be somewhere nearby and you have no clue where.
Shil is a single-player puzzle horror game coming to Meta Quest on 8th October 2026. It’ll cost $14.99 USD. The game is also available to wishlist on Steam and is said to be coming very soon.
