John Malkovich & Sam Rockwell in Terrific ‘Wild Horse Nine’ Trailer #2

“Do you ever get paranoid you’re not being paranoid enough?” Searchlight Pictures unveiled an excellent second trailer for Wild Horse Nine, also listed as Wild Horse 9, a hilarious 1970s dark comedy made by filmmaker Martin McDonagh. This premiered at the 2026 Venice & Telluride Film Festivals and picked up tons of great reviews – critics are saying it’s of the best films of the year packed with a few best of the year performances as well (I wouldn’t be surprised if Malkovich takes home the Oscar next year). Wild Horse 9 is McDonagh’s fifth movie so far, following up The Banshees of Inisherin a few years ago. Set shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup (in which they helped take out their socialist president), CIA agents Chris and Lee embark upon a trust-testing mission from Santiago to Easter Island. Amongst the Island’s iconic statues, as the longtime partners wrestle with their dark pasts and present conspiracies, Chris’s newfound bond with a pair of rebellious students threatens to send everyone’s trip to this remote paradise sideways. The ensemble cast features John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, Mariana di Girolamo, Ailín Salas, with Tom Waits & Parker Posey. I also loved this film – my review.
