So, as it happens, the Pacifist Trait only lasts for 1 hour after entering the game. Intentional or a bug, there’s something to discuss here, so I’ve created this Grand Blue Pacifist Trait guide to explore what’s going on and whether this Trait is still worth rolling for.

Grand Blue Pacifist Trait
Common rarity, the Pacifist Trait has a 52.35% roll chance.
When applied, it “Keeps PvP protection whilst your bounty is under 1,000“. This means PvP is force-disabled until your bounty exceeds 1,000, at which point this Trait becomes void.
However, players who roll for this Trait have found this PvP protection doesn’t last, remaining active only for the first hour that they’ve joined the game. After this, the PvP protection wears off, and they’re at the mercy of fellow pirates and marines. Relogging will reset the one-hour timer, but it will always disable after the 60 minutes are up.
Is This a Bug or Intentional?
We believe this to be an intentional choice, given that permanent PvP protection would give no access to the bounty board unless this Trait is rerolled or placed in storage. The confusing description provided in-game must be a trimmed version of the Trait’s full influence, since the reroll menu only has limited space on the screen.
Is Pacifist Worth Keeping?
Despite the misleading description, Pacifist is great for early-game players who want to passively work through NPC and storyline quests and progressions, without stronger players interrupting and attacking them.
Even on Anchor Port, players who have already reached level 100+ patrol around looking for easy bounty pickings, so it’s a nice way to deter that… even if only for an hour.

What are Traits?
Traits are rollable, permanent, passive buffs that let you explore a new framework for your build. They come in different rarity tiers, and some are far better than others in versatility and in which player archetype would benefit from them.
For example, Pacifist only works for early-game players who are without a bounty. The PvP protection promises them safe travels for an hour, before they need to relog to reset the timer. Players with a bounty over 1k will not benefit from this Trait whatsoever, and should focus on controlling something else instead.
Which are the best Traits?
This is obviously a personal choice, but I like and recommend Maniac, Copycat, and Predator.
