Print I Love U Is a Psychological Horror Visual Novel About a Game Made for Alice

If you’ve played Nikita Kryukov’s Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk and had all positive things to say about it, there’s a similar game out now. It’s Print I Love U. This first-person psychological horror visual novel is from developer Claudio Moltedo and publisher Red Hog Studio.

Print I Love U is now available on Steam. Inspired by Nikita Kryukov’s 2020 hit, Print I Love U brings the same small-scale, strong-emotions approach, putting atmosphere and emotional tension ahead of jump scares.

The premise starts with you buying a second-hand computer online and discovering a short romance game hiding on the hard drive. It was apparently made for a girl named Alice Print. So, you play the strange little game that somebody left behind, and the act of playing it is part of the story itself.

The story is about the strange relationship between the unknown developer and Alice Print. The game on the laptop feels like a deeply personal, almost gamified love letter that was created specifically for Alice.

The three minigames are integrated into the narrative, and the different choices and paths can lead you toward different endings. There are multiple endings and additional story fragments. Print I Love U intentionally leaves gaps in its storytelling, hides little details around the place, and uses subtle foreshadowing.

Print I Love U resembles retro Nintendo Game Boy Advance or DS games

The game uses bold monochrome lines blended with sweet motifs (hearts, sweaters) that shift into sinister, blood-red horror elements. It’s all hand-drawn and pixelated art, with hand-drawn character animations as well. The intentionally amateurish presentation is part of the game’s personality.
