Grow A Garden 2 got some pretty major additions over the weekend, after the Admin Party concluded. This was already knocking around a little beforehand it appears, but the Grow A Garden 2 werewolf game is crucial if you’re someone who likes stealing crops, but is finding that a bit more of a struggle in the new Fall Harvest world. Now, with the help of nightly lycanthropy, you can fill your boots with all the ill-gotten fruit you can carry… well, if you had boots. You’ll probably have paws instead.

Let’s explain.

What Is The Werewolf Game?

A round of the werewolf game triggers some nights since the fall update. It generally happens in the Fall Harvest world, though we did run into it in the default world too. The basic idea is pretty simple.

When night falls, players will be given a role at random, either Defender or Werewolf.Who has what role may change throughout the night, so be on your guard. The game ends at sunrise.

If You’re A Defender

If you get the Defender role, the most common role to get, your job is simple. You stay pretty much the same as you usually are. If you see a Werewolf running around, it’s probably after your crops. Show no mercy and give it a firm whack on the nose with your shovel to turn the werewolf back into a regular player. The trouble is, lycanthropy is easily transferred… if you stop one, they you immediately become the Werewolf. (Don’t worry, this is mostly a good thing.)

Strategy-wise, you’re usually best off defending your garden directly and staying close rather than trying to chase the much faster Werewolf down with your shovel.

If You’re A Werewolf

On the other hand, if you’re a Werewolf you can get your hands on a lot of other people’s crops, but you will need to adapt fast. As a werewolf you are very strong and more importantly very fast. You can carry a lot of fruit and you can run faster than players can. You can also steal from any garden while it’s still night time, so make the most of it.

Your goal, should you choose to accept it, is to steal as much as you can and get it all back to your garden before the sun comes up and you return to human form. (Or whatever shape your avatar is.)

The thing you need to be most careful of is other players. As they’re Defenders, they too can turn you back and steal your werewolf powers… but only if they can catch you and your speedy new wolf legs.

So all you need to do is steer clear of the players. Make sure to run anything you steal back to your own garden. If you’re still carrying it at sunrise it may not count.

We hope this has come in useful and helped you understand how to tackle this unexpected new complication to fall nights. We expect this will probably go away with the Fall Harvest event, but who knows? Maybe we’ll get even more special night events soon.
