How to Use Soul Shards
If not apparent by their name, the Soul Shards are fragments of Souls which need crafting into a complete soul for the player to wear. Once complete, the wearer will gain unique buffs that enhance their build and occasionally apply passives.
I recommend my Soul Crossover X Souls guide for a complete walkthrough on recipes and buffs. In short, you typically need x2 Soul Shards of the same type, Gold, Gems, and meet a predetermined level requirement to craft.
Soul Sets
In some cases, some Souls also have Sets, which are complementary items such as armour, weapons, titles, etc, which complete the “Set”. Complete sets (when worn) grant additional stat buffs on top of the base stats of each individual item.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don’t all Souls have Soul Shards?
Only the souls that require crafting have corresponding Soul Shards to find. The rest, such as the Temmie Soul, are bought without needing materials.
Is there a pity system?
Yes! If you’re unsuccessful in getting a Soul Shard, the game will gradually fill a pity and then guarantee one on your next boss kill. If you get a soul before the pity fills, it resets to 0 and begins the count again.
I have the materials but can’t craft the Soul, why?
Most recipes, be it for souls, buying from shops, etc, require meeting a predetermined level before you qualify to craft/purchase an item. I recommend checking the shopkeeper to see what level each item is locked behind before heading back into the main game to grind EXP.
