We love anomaly games here at GZ, and when we caught wind of Home Alone Anomaly we were straight in to check out the game. It’s solid, but also can be pretty challenging. We’ve made this Home Alone Anomaly walkthrough to explain how to play it, as well as give you a guide to each of the game’s anomalies.

Home Alone Anomaly Walkthrough

The goal in Home Alone is to make it from midnight to 6am with your chores completed and sanity intact. You do this by completing the tasks on the board, and by making smart choices when someone knocks on the door. Use cues to work out if they are genuinely someone looking for help, or an anomaly trying to mess with you.

Sanity

Sanity is your health in Home Alone, more or less. If you let anomalous visitors in, or turn genuine people in need, you’ll lose Sanity. Some of the effects of Sanity loss includes:

Darkening vision.Auditory hallucinations. The home degrading, with destroyed furniture and stained, graffiti-strewn walls.

There are a few items that can increase your Sanity, but we’ll cover those in the Items section.

Chores

One of the important parts of Home Alone is completing chores. You need to complete enough of them to meet the allowance quota on the board in the living room. These are selected randomly, with four available on a full list. Once you clear the list, it refreshes with a new set of chores. These do a good job of filling the gaps between visitors. (Oh we’ll get to those later, don’t you worry.) They’re pretty simple minigames, for the most past. Below we’ve listed all the ones we’ve run into.

Make Coffee – Take the coffee packet on the kitchen island and head to the coffee maker in the kitchen. Interact with the coffee maker, and hit the arrow buttons to raise of lower the needle on the dial. You need to get the needle in the green zone. After that you can leave it to finish brewing.Clear Spider Webs – Find the spider webs from each of the doorways in the house by holding to interact with them.Clean The Windows – Interact with each window in the living room and hall, then click repeatedly to clean off the dirt.Water The Plants – Pick up the watering can from the front living room corner and interact with several plants. There are three in the living room, one in the hallway, and two in the bathroom.Do The Dishes – Take each dish off the kitchen island and transfer the plate to the sink. Once in the sink, click repeatedly to wash the dish. Once it’s done, repeat with the other dishes in the stack until you’re done.Clean The Kitchen – Take the squirt bottle off the kitchen island and interact with four stains around the kitchen. (If you’re stuck, check the chairs against the island, and the fridge.)Clean Your Room – Go to your room and interact with the crayons and toys on the floor, then tap to place them in the tox box.Clean Your Parents’ Room – Why aren’t they cleaning their own room? Still, you need to pick up the clothes on the floor and then tap to place them in the laundry basket.Cook Tomorrow’s Lunch – Take the pan off the kitchen island and place it on the stove. Place the pasta in the pan.  Then you need to keep tapping to keep the dial for the stove in the green zone until the pasta is cooked. Once you’ve done that, interact with the fridge to put it away.

Visitors

Visitors will show up at the door throughout the night and ask for your help. Some are just regular people that need assistance, but some have sinister motivations. You need to use the info available to you to try and figure out if there is something off about them. If they seem legit, interact with the door to let them in. If they seem shady, you should turn off the porch light to get them to go away.

These are things you should consider when you’re deciding.

Strange looking. Sometimes people look off or do something that seems uncanny.Saying unsettling things. Some people’s stories just seem suspicious.Lying. They might say things that don’t add up.CCTV. Always check the CCTV cameras through your laptop on the coffee table. Make sure to check the different views, and turn on night vision. Anything on the camera that looks different is a bad sing.

Visitor List

Below we’ve listed all the visitors we’ve encountered. Some appear to have normal or anomalous versions, so we’ll indicate the signs of the anomalies version when we cover them.

FBI Agent

A man arrives claiming to be investigating alien activity.

Anomalous Version

This version appears to be an alien when viewed through the CCTV night vision.

Dog Man

A man comes to the door asking for someone to check on his dog that got in. In the normal version, you can see a dog on the back yard CCTV. Let him in and he’ll leave shortly after.

Anomalous Version

Make sure to check the cameras when Dog Man appears, as in the anomalous version checking on the cameras you’ll see… a person. Extremely concerning. Shut off the lights.

Cat Woman

A lady looking for her missing cat, Luna. You should be able to see Luna in your parents’ room when you check.

Wifi Kid

A boy with a tablet shows up claiming there’s an emergency. On opening up, it turns out he wants your Wifi password because he’s trying to finish watching a video.

Anomalous Version

If you can hear a noise while looking the cameras, like keys tapping, he’s up to something sinister and is trying to hack your cameras. If you hear the tapping noises, turn off the porch light.

Ballerina

A dancing woman shows up at the door, wanting someone to see her dance before her recital.

Anomalous Version

The anomaly variant of the ballerina will stare straight at the cameras while you’re looking at them. The normal version won’t.

Break Up Girl

A woman comes to the door saying her boyfriend just broke up with her and she needs a tissue to wipe her eyes.

Anomalous Version

Check cameras. The anomalous version grins at camera when viewed that way, while she looks like she’s crying when you look at her normally.

Lost Child/Big Child

A girl comes to the door, claiming she’s lost and needs to use your phone to call her parents.

Anomalous Version

If you check the cameras, the girl appears much larger when viewed this way, huge, in fact. Light off immediately.

Drunk Girl

A fairly intoxicated lady who thinks she’s at her friend’s house and wants to use the phone.

Homework Kid

A neighbourhood kid who wants to ask you about the math homework you both have.

Anomalous Version

The creepy variant’s voice keeps changing between a kid voice and something deep and unnatural.

Party Girl

A woman who, for best reasons known to herself, is trying to invite you to a party at 3am.

Anomalous Version

This one speaks with a weird, distorted voice.

Gym Bro

A buff-looking guy in workout clothes. He forgot to add water to his protein shake and wants some.

Anomalous Version

The anomalous version speaks with a weird high-pitched voice. Then, when he gets his protein shake, he drinks it and explodes.

Homeless Man

A scruffy-looking guy asking for some food as he hasn’t eaten in days.

Anomalous Version

The evil version of the homeless guy is invisible on the cameras.

Water Guy

A guy from the water company come to let you know that there’s a problem with your water. If you check the kitchen sink, it should be running brown, confirming his story.

Fireman

A bit like the Water Company Guy, this guy is pretty easy to determine as legit. When he arrives, check to see if your oven is on fire. If it is, you should probably let him in.

Angry Neighbour

A woman approaches the door, angrily complaining that once of the CCTV cameras is pointing at her house. If you don’t let her in, she will disable that camera, so you should let her in and talk it out. (Though really not a great time for her to do this.)

Friendly Neighbour

A man who says he’s new in the area and wants to introduce himself.

Anomalous Version

Make sure to check the cameras before letting the guy in.

Puppy07

A large man with a beaten up van who says you played together on Roblox and so you should let him in. Did not need to check the camera to know to keep the door shut. Yikes.

Vampire

A man with a suspiciously Transylvanian accent who keeps asking you to invite him in so he can get a warm drink. Nice try Dracula, but we’re onto you. Turn off the light.

There are a few things you can use to get some bonuses to your stats or useful effects you can use. You can use coins warned during runs to buy these from the Lobby.
