Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 is set to receive an update to fix a blooper that replaced Puerto Rican flags with Cuban flags in the game. Both flags do bear a resemblance but players found it peculiar that the mistake was not picked up on earlier especially since the wrong flag appears in a number of locations.
Spider-Man 2 update with correct flag “is coming,” says Insomniac Games
Spider-Man 2 released worldwide on Friday, and it wasn’t long after release that players noted the error. Insomniac Games and its community manager James Stevenson were tagged in a number of posts pointing out the issue, garnering one short response from Stevenson that can be seen below. Insomniac has not released a statement explaining the error.
We’re assuming that Spider-Man 2 underwent a number of playtests. Additionally, it was widely reviewed by hundreds of global outlets. Considering that, it is curious that the issue was only highlighted by players after release. Miles Morales is half Puerto Rican, so seeing a flag of Cuba must be jarring for many.
The good news is, a fix is on its way. We just don’t know when. Spider-Man 2 is also due to receive an update that adds New Game Plus.
