Iron Soul: Dungeon was a pleasant surprise for us this week, after we stumbled across the game more or less by accident, and then also accidentally sunk hours into it. This dungeon crawler is full of features, but there’s not a ton of info about. That’s why we put together this Iron Soul Dungeon tier list with info on the player races. Thought we might as well help you with our own experience in pooling our rerolls and peering at stat screenshots. Adele’s also put together a race guide, if you’d like to find out the raw numbers. I’m just giving a ranking.
Iron Soul Dungeon Tier List
Now onto the tiers. We’ll try and show our working, with reasons behind our choices.
Note: Keep in mind that while the rankings here reflect the races’ stat buffs there are a few downsides to rarer races. It’s harder to reach higher levels of rarer races as it requires a duplicate reroll. You have a 1 in 26 chance to level an Orc, but a 1 in 100 chance to level a Dragoon. Keep that in mind.
S Tier
The best races available right now.
Demon
All around great buffs make this pretty inarguably best as stats go. It matches pretty much any kind of playstyle available, and it looks pretty sick overall. Of course, it will be a nightmare to level up, but that’s the one trade-off.
Angel
Slightly lower buffs than Demon, but still head and shoulders over the other races, so honestly you can’t complain.
A Tier
Still very good. The stats are maybe a bit more specialized and less buffs across the board, so these might be a little more build-specific, but still extremely decent.
Fairy
The Fairy’s buffs make them kind of a glass cannon build. They can crit really hard, more often, and get their Ultimates back fast, especially at higher levels, but you will need to rely on base stats for durability and movement.
Dragoon
Extremely speedy, with smaller bonuses to attack and crit rate. Amazing if you want to create a ranged Staff build.
Sorcerer
Another crit fishing race, and more or less on the level with the Fairy. Devastating when used properly, but don’t forget to upgrade things like Speed, Health, and CD Reduction on your own character.
B Tier
Less flashy but still solid races, especially if you can upgrade them to higher levels.
Dragonkin
Good at crits, (though not as good at the Fairy) and with a longer dash distance, which is a bit situational, but largely helpful overall.
Undead
A tankier race that gets more health and cooldown reduction, with a bit of extra skill damage. Decent if you want to get into melee a lot.
Goblin
Moves faster and dashes more often. It’s nothing flashy but it suits a long range build extremely well.
C Tier
Okay, these are nothing crazy but they do the job. You may want to reroll something more exciting in the future, but there are reasons to keep them in the short term.
Orc
Boosts attack and health. A solid all-rounder.
D Tier
Not awful but pretty basic, even with upgrades. Worth rerolling when you have the chance.
Human
Small attack buff. Not terrible, but outclassed by more or less everything else.
