Palia’s new adventure zone, Royal Highlands, is here, and it includes all-new content, materials, creatures, and a new mystery. One of the highlights of this new zone is the Amber crystal, which you can find throughout the zone. It can be seen on trees, creatures, mining nodes, and fishing bubbles. Although it is easy to break and free things from it, gathering Amber Echo is another thing. It is a crucial resource that acts as a currency that you can use to purchase various new items. In this guide, we will explain what Amber Echo is, how to farm it, and how to use it in Palia.
What is Amber Echo in Palia
Amber Echo is a new currency in Palia, exclusive to the Royal Highlands adventure zone. Similar to the Infected Essence over in the Elderwood zone, Amber Echo is an uncommon currency that you can harvest from breaking Amber Crystal. However, before you can harvest any Amber Echo from the crystals, you will have to get your hands on an Echo Tracker. It is a special relic that Eshelon gives you during the “A Stitch in Time” quest. If you want to harvest any Amber Echo, you have to progress in the new main story questline.
NOTE: The main story of Royal Highlands starts automatically after completing the Elderwood main story.
Once you have the Echo Tracker, you will automatically harvest the Amber Echo from breaking Amber Crystals on trees, mining nodes, and creatures. Moreover, hunting the creatures, catching the bugs, and fishing will also net you some Amber Echo.
How to Farm Amber Echo in Palia
The best method to farm Amber Echo is to either hunt Jaakcats (creatures) or catch bugs. You can run into multiple Jaakcats at a spot, and some of the Jaakcats might possess an elemental mask. All of the main areas, including Royal Hunting Grounds, Standing Cliffs, Phoenix Church, and Amphitheater, have a high number of Jaakcats that you can hunt.
Catching bugs is another great way to earn Amber Echo. The Amber Lake is a hotspot for catching bugs, as they seem to respawn instantly there. Amber Lake is west of the Phoenix Church, and you can find a great number of Shadvaraak Beetles there. Use the smoke bombs to catch these bugs, and each bug will grant you a decent number of Amber Echo.
Amber Echo Bonus
In addition to both of these methods, I recommend that you use Eloine’s Blessing (Relic). Eloine’s Blessing grants additional Amber Echo on every harvest; the value depends on the tier of the Relic. The higher the tier of Eloine’s Blessing, the higher the bonus.
How to Use Amber Echo in Palia
You can use Amber Echo to purchase items from the Amber Echo Store, located at the Royal Highlands Central Stables. The Amber Echo Store includes all of the following items.
