It’s the universal phrase for procrastinating. You’ve got a ton to do, but you’re stuck in a game telling yourself, ‘Just five more minutes…’ Well, this new game surely reminds me of that situation, although it’s not about that. It’s Five More Minutes, whose demo is now out for PC.
Five More Minutes is developed by PurpleTurtle and published by Zugalu Entertainment. It will launch on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. A roguelite deckbuilder, the release is planned for Q3 2026.
Grew up glued to games? Try the Five More Minutes demo!
You play as a young gamer reliving the golden days of the 90s and early 2000s. You go through procedurally generated worlds inspired by classic genres, like platformers and survival horror. So, every run is different with new encounters, card combos, and challenges.
Each genre has its own cards, keepsakes or memorabilia depending on which part you read. As you level up your character, you get more actions, health, and mementos from your runs. Combat and actions run on a four-button resource system, related to attack, special attack, defense, and utility.
Then there’s the archetypes, letting you pick between three starting characters: the Hero, the Cop, and the Mascot. The RPG Hero focuses on power scaling, the Horror Cop deals with resource management, and the Platformer Mascot is all about movement and agility.
Five More Minutes leans into escapism and nostalgia. You get a strange guide character, a demon with a joystick for a head. It follows you around and helps you out. It actually embodies video game addiction and even doubles as the secret final boss.
Check out the Five More Minutes demo on Steam. Once it’s out, it will cost $19.99 with a 10% launch discount.
